April 2023
In line with the changes in Multistrada's CSR activities that follow Michelin standards, starting in 2023 the company is running various programs that have a positive impact on the environment.
One of them is in February and March 2023, Multistrada is conducting CSR activities in the context of preventing stunting (failure to grow) in the East Cikarang region.
Stunting is a condition where a child's height is below what is expected for their age and sex. It is caused by chronic malnutrition, which can be due to a lack of food, poor quality food, or frequent infections. Stunting can have a number of negative consequences for children, including impaired cognitive development, reduced educational attainment, and increased risk of chronic diseases in adulthood.
In Indonesia, stunting is a major public health problem. According to the World Bank, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia was 24.4% in 2021. This means that nearly one in four children under the age of five in Indonesia is stunted.
This program, which synergizes with PUSKESMAS Lemahabang, focuses on preventing stunting through classes on pregnant women and checking for anemia among high school students. The class for pregnant women has been conducted twice with 20 participants from 2 villages in the East Cikarang area. Meanwhile, education on stunting prevention and anemia examination was attended by 120 students from SMA 1 Cikarang Timur.
